I am fond of playing real-time strategy games. You have to think hard and plan your next move in order to win the battle. Among the many RTS games available in the market, Stronghold Crusader Extreme is one of my favorites. I had played the earlier versions so I was thrilled when this one came out. The setting and time for this game were during the Crusades era and takes place in the Middle East. The new missions in Stronghold Crusader Extreme are quite challenging even for hardcore fans like me.
The Crusader Extreme Trail which has twenty missions is so hard that it’s difficult to reach the next level. I also noticed that the graphics and sound have not changed that much. It’s nice to be the lord of the kingdom and build your territory. Your strategy in handling the economic chains in your kingdom and how you perform in each mission will determine your victory against your enemies. Stronghold Crusader Extreme is an expansion of the 2002 Stronghold Crusader with some numerous additions likes maps, challenge modes and others.
Though Crusader Extreme is a bit old, I still find this game entertaining. It is an RTS game that is set in the Middle East with somewhat striking environment that you will enjoy. It delivers a new level of combats compares to its previous versions. I like its unusual concept because most of the RTS games focus on offensive strategies while this game focuses more on defense and resource management. Plus this edition has a sense of humor which I think quite appealing. Unfortunately, I find its graphics too outdated since it has the exact graphics as the first Stronghold Crusader. It is stuck with 2D settings with poor texture.
The sound is also the same as before. Nonetheless, Stronghold Crusader Extreme is still a fine game with lots of challenging battles.
